Meet the team

Mark joined Active Business Communications five years ago and is now Managing Director. His interests include skiing, watching football and history and he once played lacrosse for Scotland.

Darren is Commercial Director at Active Business Communications and joined ten years ago. He enjoys watching football, walking and travelling and is on a mission to visit over 100 Hard Rock Cafes and purchase their signature ‘Hurricane' cocktail in each one.

Malcolm has been providing sales and management consultancy to Active Business Communications for the past twelve years. He used to play rugby but is now just a spectator and also enjoys walking the dogs, travelling (but not flying!) and watching formula one motor sport. He recently ditched his acoustic guitar for an electric one - he says he still plays just as bad but with the amplifier he can annoy more people!

Chrissy joined the customer service team of Active Business Communications in November 2006 and became Operations Director in January 2008. She loves to travel and plans to spend much more time indulging this interest in due course! In particular she would love to visit Antarctica one day.

Matthew joined Active Business Communications in July 2002 and is currently a client Account Manager. His interests include skiing and football and he even used to play for Nottingham Forest.

Gill has worked in the mobile communications industry since 1985 and joined Active Business Communications in September 2006. She enjoys playing golf and badminton, as well as travelling. She used to be in the Salvation Army, playing the tambourine (honestly!).

Ian has been working in the mobile communications industry for 15 years and joined Active Business Communications in July 2009. He loves playing and watching sports including football, cricket and golf. He's even represented Cheshire Schoolboys at football, cricket, hockey and athletics and scored two goals at Everton F.C.

Lucy has been working for Active Business Communications since August 2008 and is probably the person you'll hear in the background if you call the office! She enjoys shopping, travelling and spending time with her son and once did a bungee jump in Kos (something she thought she would never have done!).

Paul joined Active Business Communications in November 2007 as Business Development Manager. His interests include travelling, wine tasting and eating out and he once lived in a campervan for a year (whilst travelling the world).

Sarah joined the New Business Development team at Active Business Communications in July 2010. She lists her hobbies as shopping, reading and going to the spa and when she’s not working, she’d love to go traveling around America, taking in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Laguna Beach and Las Vegas.

Grant joined the New Business Sales team at Active Business Communications in May 2010. His hobbies include snowboarding and mountain biking and his claim to fame is that he won a bronze medal in the northwest junior judo championships when he was 15!

Ayyaz joined the team here at Active Business Communications in April 2010, as Finance Manager. He lists his hobbies as playing cricket, snooker and tennis – one at a time presumably! He also has a love of travelling and is interested in cars.

Mark joined Active Business Communications in March 2008 and his claim to fame is that he has met David Hasselhoff! He enjoys both playing and watching football (he's even played proper football in the New York Giants Stadium, New Jersey!), along with a wide variety of other sports. He has a great interest in music - many genres and many bands - and enjoys playing his guitar as well as attending gigs. He is an avid cinema goer, who'll watch anything from (but not including) Rom-Coms to Horror movies.

Jodie has been Customer Services Executive at Active Business Communications since January 2006. Her interests include socialising, especially going on trips out with family and friends and she loves playing ‘Guitar Hero' (in fact, she thinks she might be slightly addicted to it!). She ran ‘Race for Life' last year in 35 minutes and supports cancer research, hoping to raise further funds for this charity in the future.

Mike joined Active Business Communications in September 2006 and lists his interests as playing football and pool (in a league). He's adopted a hippo, which is based at Chester Zoo!

Nick started working for Active Business Communications in July 2005, stayed until September 2006 and then came back in April 2007! He enjoys travelling and has been the whole way around the world. He likes to keep fit, running the New York marathon in 2008, the Berlin marathon in 2009 and the London marathon in 2010. He's on a mission to do "30 by 30" - visiting 30 different countries before he's 30, spending his 30^th birthday in the 30^th country! He's currently on number 17...

Before joining Active Business Communications in December 2009, Nick spent some time travelling around Thailand and his passion for travelling means he would love to cross Europe in a 60’s VW camper van. He also enjoys music, being obsessed with his iPod and DJ’ing with a few friends every month. He also loves pizza and superheroes!

Jodie joined in November 2009, after life as an actor – she’s been in loads of commercials as well as The Royal! She’s normally the person who answers the phone here at Active Business Communications, at least when she’s not off traveling – she’s already been to Thailand and would love to visit Australia and America next.
