BlackBerry Desktop Synchronisation
This process requires the BlackBerry Desktop Manager software to be installed. For a link to download this, as well as instructions on how to install it, go to http://www.ab-comms.com/useful-information/tutorials/blackberry-desktop_software_install
Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager by clicking on the desktop icon or by going to Start > All Programs > BlackBerry > Desktop Manager. Select the Synchronisation option.

When the synchronisation page opens, click on Synchronisation on the left of the page, underneath Configure.

The select the Synchronisation button on the right of the page.

A pop-up screen will appear - select the application you would to configure first (in this instance Address Book is selected).

Select the desktop program you want to synchronise with. Click Next >

Select the direction of the synchronisation that you want. Two way will update the BlackBerry with any changes made on the desktop and vice versa. One way from device will update changes/additions made on the device to the computer but not vice versa. One way to device will update changes/additions made on the desktop to the device but not vice versa. Click Next >

If using Microsoft Outlook you will be prompted to select the profile you use. Click Next >

This has completed the synchronisation of the address book. Click Finish to return to the setup screen.

Select any other desktop applications you wish to setup a synchronisation of (in this instance Calendar is selected).

Select the desktop program you want to synchronise with. Click Next >

Select the direction of the synchronisation that you want. Two way will update the BlackBerry with any changes made on the desktop and vice versa. One way from device will update changes/additions made on the device to the computer but not vice versa. One way to device will update changes/additions made on the desktop to the device but not vice versa. Click Next >

For the Calendar you can then choose the date range of the appointments you want to sync. Once selected, click Next >

This has completed the synchronisation of the calendar. Click Finish to return to the setup screen.

Once you have configured all the applications you wish to synchronise click OK.

You will return to the synchronisation configuration screen. Click on Synchronise on the left of the screen, just above Configure.

Ensure the box next to Synchronise organiser data has a tick in it and then press the Synchronise button in the centre of the screen.

The synchronisation will begin.

Any changes that will be made during the synchronisation will appear on a confirmation screen. You can Accept the changes to continue with the sync or Reject to cancel the sync.

When accepted a progress box will appear.

The process will be repeated for each desktop application you configured for the synchronisation.

Once completed you will be returned the the main synchronisation screen in the BlackBerry Destop Manager.
